NUS College Communications

As a student helper, I worked closely with my college's management in its communications efforts, including managing and creating content for the College's official social media accounts. My team was also instrumental in providing insights to the management to ensure that the College's communications efforts are representative of the students' perspectives.

I took on the role of a designer and worked mostly on creating engaging graphics for the College's Instagram account @nuscollege. As the College recently went through a rebranding, my role required me to apply the brand fonts, colours and motifs dynamically to ensure contents stay true to the brand. Below are a few of my works for the College.

#IGsOfNUSC

#IGsOfNUSC is a series on the College's Instagram account, which introduces the various Interest Groups in the College by highlighting the main activities and the captains of those groups. I developed a unique style for this series, which includes a brush font, simple brush icons, and a versatile white background so that the design can be applied and used throughout the series. Shown on the left is the first post in the series, featuring a group offering coffees and teas in the College. I also wrote the copy and caption of this post to highlight the group's unique personality.

Student Achievement Reel

I also worked on an Instagram reel documenting two students' trip to a student conference in Germany. I liaised with the students to request video footage of their trip and subsequently worked on a script to feature the highlights of the students' trip to showcase the College's pride in its students' achievement. The video was well received by the Instagram account's audiences and garnered about 320k views and over 370 likes.

Ministerial Visit

When a Singaporean Cabinet Minister visited the College, I was tasked to cover the event. I was assigned as the photographer to capture the event and then produce a recap post that recounts what happened during the visit. I decided to utilise and emphasise the pictures taken and use simple texts to go along with the pictures to authentically convey the interactions between the Minister, faculty members, and students during the visit. The post also incorporates the brand colours and fonts.
