Treasure Hunter

TH Mockup.png

Help the knight get through the forbidden forest and find the treasure!

1. Grab that bandit!

image.png
The ruthless bandit just sped past you in the forest and slyly stole the knight's belongings. The forest is dense and labyrinthine, yet the thief slides through it effortlessly. Get him before he gets away!

2. A shack of supplies?

image.png
You chance upon a dilapidated hut in the middle of the forest — perfect spot for a short rest. Wait, it looks exactly like the photo the knight gave you! Pick up all the supplies required by the knight before you keep going!

3. Mysterious (hang)man

image.png
The forest is truly unpredictable. A hooded man who claims to be 'Jerry the Wise' threatens to hang you if you don't give him the secret code within 10 guesses. Can you guess it?

REFLECTIONS

The real treasure was how much about game design and development I learnt through this project

This was a solo project to build a simple game from scratch, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I worked on this after a short 2 or 3 months learning how to use the said languages and it was extremely difficult. I referenced various online sources and pestered my tutor to achieve the product that you just saw.

That said, looking back at the product still makes me feel extremely fulfilled and I am really glad that I decided to take on this project. From time to time, I still open this up to give me a boost of confidence and I never fail to chuckle at the end when the game tells you what the real treasure of life is. Hopefully it made your day as much as it made mine working on this project!
